Our 150 Year History

We are so thrilled to be celebrating a history that spans centuries -- and, it is not without a reason.  With roots that credit new pastors out of Linfield College in the 1800's for starting the ministry, to members whose names are memorialized on the very streets of Amity, to those who have selflessly and quietly served, we know God has placed us in Amity, Oregon for a reason!

Dr. Allan Swanborough has served Amity First Baptist Church for 22 years.  His heart is for the people of Amity.  Dr. Swanborough has his doctorate in Psychology and Christian Counseling and enjoys the opportunity to connect with members and non-members alike through counseling.  His seminary work was done at Melbourne Bible College and his doctorate at Louisana Baptist University. 

 

If you are troubled, hurting, or need direction in your life, Pastor Allan provides counseling services for anyone interested.  It is free for those who attend Amity Baptist regularly and a small fee for non-attenders.  Please contact the pastor directly for consultations regarding marriage, family, abuse, anger, addictions, grief and questions about your spiritual life.
